Escalon baseball players named all-state

Escalon's trio of Matt Valencia, Josh Miguel and Patrick Mulry — who led the Cougars to a second consecutive state championship — have been selected to CalHiSports' All-State Small-School Team. Valencia (11-1, 1.04 ERA; .393, 32 RBIs) was The Bee's Player of the Year. Shortstop Miguel (.404, 41 runs scored) and out fielder Mulry (.338, 24 RBIs) were on The Bee's all-Stanislaus District team, as well. Escalon's Greg Largent was selected the state small-school coach of the year by CalHi Sports.
