Oakdale awarded $76K park grant

The California Department of Housing and Community Development has awarded Oakdale a $76,175 grant.

The money is part of $11.3 million in grants the state agency awarded to 33 communities for the creation and renovation of recreational facilities.

Oakdale is the only community in the Northern San Joaquin Valley to be awarded the funding.

The grant is to renovate and landscape Fair Oaks Park, including removing and installing sidewalks, installing a new irrigation system and aerator, turf restoration, tree replacement, park lights and new playground equipment.
