Local baseball standouts honored by CalHiSports

Oakdale’s Logan Handzlik (12-2, 1.25 ERA), Beyer catcher Dempsey Grover (.397, four home runs) and Buhach Colony's Daulton Jefferies (.366, 29 RBIs; 8-0, 1.26 ERA) have been selected to the CalHiSports All-State Underclass Team. Handzlik is a first-team selection, one of nine pitchers from throughout the state, while Grover and Jefferies were second-team picks. All three are juniors, and Grover (Santa Barbara) and Jefferies (Stanford) already have verbal commitments with their colleges.
