Remember the lyrics to the 1970s song "I Fought the Law and the Law Won" (Sonny Curtis, 1958)? Well, I fought Sacramento and Sacramento won.
This campaign for the 5th state Senate District has been a deeply rewarding experience. One I will never forget, including the new people I was able to meet during the campaign. The wonderful volunteers throughout the 5th Senate District who eagerly joined this campaign and worked so hard.
My goal was to give the residents of this district a local and different voice in Sacramento. A voice that had years of experience solving local problems and caring for this region. Even though voters have chosen a different path, I respect and honor their decision.
