Question: I loved Sealtests spring garden flavor of cottage cheese, which sold many years ago. Do you know how to make a substitute?
Answer: When products disappear, loyal fans do get frustrated. Usually, its very difficult to come up with a substitute. But in the case of the garden-flavored cottage cheese, there are several recipes floating around for a version of it.
Heres the most common one: Mix a 16-ounce carton of cottage cheese with 3 or 4 sliced green onions, a stick of diced celery, half a diced cucumber and a cored, diced tomato. Stir in a splash of Worcestershire sauce, about 1 teaspoon celery salt and a tablespoon of mayonnaise. That should get you close to the flavor of the original.
