Extremely outgoing, with an exuberant personality, Steven seems to have it all. While maintaining a 3.8 GPA and balancing his numerous clubs and activities, he is a huge role model to underclassmen.
Clubs are a big part of Steven's life as a high school student. He has been a participant in Leadership, HYLC, FFA, PHAST, Science Club, Ambassadors and Bulldog Buddies.
Being a member of Leadership has helped form Steven into who he is today. He started as a spirit/rally commissioner during junior year, and he decided to take on a bigger role his senior year as ASB director of student affairs.
"Leadership has taught me working and communication skills to help lead myself and others in the future," Steven said.
Another of his favorite clubs is Bulldog Buddies. This program is designed for freshmen to talk with a junior or senior to help them with anything they need.
"Growing up, I've always seen people get picked on and I never really cared," he said. "But now I want to make sure students have a safe place to go or at least someone to talk to, because I know if I was in that position, I would want someone to talk to."
Sports are a big part of Steven's life. He enjoys playing football, swimming, water polo and baseball. Football is his favorite sport, for many reasons. Playing since he was 7, Steven has learned a lot about leadership and discipline because of football. This year, he decided to go a different route and try water polo. He loves meeting new people and trying new sports and activities to expand his opportunities.
Since freshman year, Steven has enjoyed science. As the years passed, he realized that he was really interested in science and it pushed him to excel in that subject.
"Science has always been my favorite subject, so I wanted to explore further in all that science has to offer," he said.
Steven soon came to the realization that he loved learning about biology, which made him want to pursue a career as a pediatrician. He hopes to attend the University of California at Davis.
