-- The southbound lanes of Highway 99 near Turlock were shut down for about 90 minutes Thursday afternoon after a fire involving a big rig spread to dry grass along the roadway.

For an unknown reason, a big rig carrying cars caught fire near the Keyes Road onramp at about 12:45 p.m., according to officer Eric Parsons of the California Highway Patrol.
