Officer Scott Nelson said the victims were a man about 30 years old, a woman about 20 and a 16-year-old boy. The victims' names were being withheld pending notification of relatives.
Nelson said police received a 911 call from a home in the 700 block of North McClure Road about 3:40 a.m.. Officers found the victims inside. Nelson said they died of gunshot wounds, but he would not say how many shots were fired or whether the victims were hit by gunfire multiple times.
The Stanislaus County District Attorney's Office has joined the investigation into finding the suspect or suspects responsible for the killings.
"This was not a problem home," Nelson said in describing the residence, which is across the street from the 16th green on the east end of Creekside Golf Course.
The area was cordoned off as detectives and crime scene technicians combed the area for clues.
Police released no further details on the victims, including whether they were related to one another.
