A 22-year-old Modesto man has turned himself in related to the shooting death of another man outside Shiva's Motel in south Modesto on Tuesday afternoon.
Jose Angel Cervantes was interviewed by police and arrested on suspicion of homicide.
At about 3 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 700 block of South Ninth Street and found a man with a gunshot wound in the parking lot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives continue to work on leads and interview witnesses, and anyone with information about the case is asked to call sheriff's Detective Jon McQueary at (209) 525-7099.
