Campus decision right on

In response to "UC Merced tobacco ban encounters little resistance" (Jan. 30, Page B-2) and particularly to the quote "It's difficult to tell whether the ban will be a good move for the campus": In my opinion this will be a tremen-dously positive move for the campus and I see why there would not be any resistance.

I applaud the University of California system and its decision to adopt the policy to go smoke- and tobacco- free! This decision creates a cleaner and healthier environment for all campus constituents. I encourage other college campuses, private and public, to adopt smoke- and tobacco-free policies.
