Homeless shelter short on meals

The Salvation Army is looking for a few more churches, businesses and others willing to donate, prepare and serve the evening meal at its Berberian Homeless Shelter and Transitional Living Center at Ninth and D streets near downtown Modesto. It needs volunteers to take three meals this month, seven in March and five in April. The food is for 150 people and served from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Call Sylvia at (209) 525-8954 to schedule a time to help.
