Work to hamper traffic on I-5

STOCKTON -- Caltrans work in Stockton will affect traffic on Interstate 5 between Highway 4 and Hammer Lane beginning Monday.

Maintenance crews will be placing concrete barriers and performing routine bridge work. Connector ramps from Highway 4 to I-5 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday. Onramps and offramps at Pershing Avenue/Fremont Street will have alternating closures during the same time period.

The left-hand lanes in both directions on I-5 will close from Charter Way to Country Club Boulevard the same days, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There will be lane closures in both directions from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on those days. Motorists are told to expect 15-minute delays. Alternate routes are recommended.
