The front of the McHenry Mansion is in the process of being shrink-wrapped to protect workers and reconstruction from the elements as fire damage is repaired.
Workers used special propane-powered heat guns to tighten plastic draped over the building.
They began the process Thursday and are expected to wrap up Monday.
According to George Halpin, Belfor Property Restoration project manager, "Reconstruction is expected to begin when the shop drawings are completed, possibly next week. The goal for completion of the front facade is June. Reconstruction of interior items, such as carpet and wallpaper, will take longer."
Halpin, a Modesto resident for more than 20 years, said, "With this reconstruction, there are lots of moving parts. It's an ongoing process and we are moving as fast as we can, taking proper care to replace historic elements."
Although the carpet will come from England and the lace from Ireland, many other projects are being implemented by local businesses.
