Modesto-area club soccer players commit to four-year schools

The following members of the Modesto Ajax soccer program are headed to four-year schools on either full scholarship, partial scholarship or as walk-ons, acccording to Mark Vallee, coordinator for the Ajax United Football Club.

• Katie Foster, goalkeeper, Modesto Christian, headed to UC Davis.

• Joanna Ortiz, forward, Sierra, headed for California State University, Bakersfield.

• Rachel Carpenter, defender, Enochs, headed to Cal Baptist.

• Maecie Ireland, forward, Turlock High, headed to California State Stanislaus.

• Marissa Marable, midfielder, Pitman, headed to Sonoma State.

• Kelsey Gini, defe3nder, Lodi, headed to Sonoma State.

• Regan Porteous, midfielder, St. Mary’s, headed to California State University, Monterey

• Catherine Thomas, midfielder, Beyer, headed to California State University, Stanislaus.

• Ashlyn Conlin, midfielder, Lincon, headed to Chico State.

• Katie Gruelich, goalkeeper, Beyer, headed to Indiana University
