Brad Hawn is the right person to be the next mayor. He will bring a rare combination of intelligence, experience, hard work and a willingness to listen to all viewpoints. Brad has been working to help make Modesto a better place for the last eight years as a city councilman.

Brad had the courage to take the lead on pension reform. The advisory measures on this subject that Brad sponsored were overwhelmingly passed by the voters. We need Brad's leadership so that the will of the people is effectively carried out.

His courageous stance on this issue has led to a multitude of disingenuous mailers. They are trying to convince Modesto that electing Hawn will be a threat to our public safety. Not true. His goal is to make sure that there will be enough money for the police and fire departments and other essential services which will be endangered if our city budget remains out of control.

ARMAND GEORGE SKOL
