Newman Cub Scouts bake cakes for auction

Newman's Cub Scout Pack 83 will hold its annual Blue & Gold Dinner and Cake Auction on Feb. 25 from 5 to 8 p.m., at Orestimba Presbyterian Church, 1107 Kern St., Newman.

The event will feature a potluck dinner and fundraiser auction of creative cakes made by Pack 83 Cub Scouts.

Community guests with winning bids can take home the Scouts' edible offerings, while making a tax-deductible contribution to the Pack. Auction proceeds will fund learning activities that focus on outdoor skills, responsibility, respect, patriotism and community service.

Pack leaders will judge the cakes and present awards to individual scouts. The Pack will also honor four Cub Scouts who will cross the ceremonial bridge to become Boy Scouts. For more information, call Michelle Swalley at (209) 862-2313.
