As a resident of Modesto, I'm looking forward to getting out of this rural suburbia and seeing what an urban setting would be like in a large city. Not to slam our beloved Central Valley, but I need a change of scenery to a place where I'd feel more connected to the rest of the world, while at the same time experiencing the broad range of things to do in the big city.

Geoffrey Jacobs, Freshman,Modesto Junior College

Farm living is the life for me!

Dominique Germann, Junior,Central Valley High School

As an adult, I see myself living a more suburban lifestyle. I would not enjoy the crowds and traffic of the city, but after 16 years of living miles away from everything, I am ready for a change.

Anna Fogarty, Sophomore,Central Catholic High School

I definitely plan to live an urban lifestyle. I love big cities and I have always wanted to live in San Francisco. The city always keeps a person on their toes; there are so many new places to go and people to meet. There is so much life in the city, and one day, I plan to take full advantage of the opportunities that will surround me.

Tryn Brown

I plan to live in a suburban area when I am an adult. That way, I can get the best of both worlds: the city and the rural. I want my kids and pets to have plenty of room to play and roam around, but I want to be close enough to a city to experience the people, too. Living in a suburban area would be a great place to enjoy the peaceful quiet of the countryside as well as the busy noise of the city crowds.

Emily Hoeksema, Junior, Ripon Christian High School

Toshali Katyal, Freshman, Modesto High School

As an adult, I would prefer to live a sophisticated, urban lifestyle. Living in a suburban city like Modesto, I personally feel that there are more people to meet, greater opportunities and newer things to do in a larger city. Education and work have a higher range in successful cities. Another advantage to urban life is the variety of entertainment options. I would definitely enjoy living a city life.

For college, I would love to study in an urban environment — a city like New York City or Boston would be great! However, when I leave college, I want to spend my days in a suburban area. A house with a picket fence and back yard is the ideal house for me.

Mehnoor Haseeb, Senior, Modesto High School

Well, I always have thought it would be cool to live on a farm! But I also love the busy environment of a city and all the people you can meet there. I would probably have a combination of rural and urban. Going back and forth from a city job to a country home would be so worth it!

Lauren Stanislaw, Sophomore,Beyer High School

It would be tempting to say an urban lifestyle for the thrill of something new, but in the end, I think I will always be drawn to the comforts of rural life.

Patrick Germann, Senior, Central Valley High School

Although I like living in a small town, I would like to live in an urban city. I love the chaos of the city and the joy of walking anyplace you need to go. It provides endless opportunities and sets such a warm vibe. It's a lifestyle I would love to have in the future.

Brooke Anderson, Sophomore,Ceres High School
