Turlock man indicted on gun charge in federal court

A federal grand jury Thursday indicted a 21-year-old Turlock man accused of being a felon in possession of a gun, the U.S. attorney’s office in Sacramento reported.

Miguel Loza was convicted in 2010 of driving recklessly to evade a peace officer, a felony.

Federal prosecutors said authorities found Loza in possession of a handgun in November.

If convicted, Loza faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release.
