Man killed in train crash identified as Mantecan

A man who was killed when a train struck his Ford Expedition as he drove across tracks on Walnut Avenue in Manteca was identified Wednesday as 39-year-old Anthony Gregory Munkholm.

Witnesses said the railroad crossing arms appeared to be functioning properly when the Manteca man drove across the tracks Tuesday morning. The Ford sustained major damage and landed on its roof in the front yard of a home.

A passenger in the Ford suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital.
