Live puppies are not garbage

I work as a garbage man, picking up bins, and today what I picked up just sickens me. Someone thought they could use us as a easy disposal for three puppies that were about 1 month old. The only reason I spotted them was because of the blanket in their box. They are now staying at a co-worker's home waiting for someone to adopt them.

This sickens me to see that someone would do this and not take them to the local animal shelter. If that blanket didn't catch my eye, they those three puppies wouldn't have had their first Christmas.

Is our society really getting this bad?
