The unbeaten Pitman High Pride scored the game's first 36 points and coasted to a 43-9 non-league win over Gregori on Thursday night at Downey's Chuck Hughes Stadium.

The Pride (3-0), which annexed its third straight dominant win, built its huge lead before the Jaguars — in their first varsity season and without seniors — answered. A long kickoff return by Gabe Dimas led to a 1-yard quarterback sneak by Juan Tobar for the touchdown late in the first half.

A poor Pitman snap from center resulted in a Gregori safety during the third quarter. But by then, the Pride's high-acceleration wing-T attack had taken over the game.

"It took us a while to adapt to their tempo," Gregori coach Richard Caldwell said. "I think we learned something tonight. We'll go for our first win next week against Pacheco."
