Oakdale's Justin Jones and the Cal baseball team are one game away from the Super Regionals after beating Baylor 8-0 in the Houston Regional on Sunday.

Cal has to beat Baylor again tonight at Rice University to advance. Cal stayed alive in the tourney after scoring three runs on three errors in the eighth inning and eliminating Rice, 6-3.

Those teams endured a lightning delay of 2 hours, 43 minutes in the middle of the eighth.

On Saturday, Jones pitched 6ª innings, striking out 10 and giving up just two hits, to get the win in a 10-6 victory over Alcorn State.\

Elsewhere, Matt Dittman singled in the go-ahead run in Illinois' three-run eighth inning and the Big Ten champion Illini held off Cal State Fullerton 7-5 in an elimination game in the NCAA Fullerton Regional.

Neither Modesto's Blake Barber nor Merced's Dylan Floro played in the regional series for the Titans.

Oklahoma State, where freshman pitcher Vince Wheeland of Turlock plays, was eliminated from the Nashville Regional after losing to Belmont, 3-2.
