A Stanislaus County Honor Farm escapee was captured by Modesto police on Tuesday night after he was pulled over for a traffic stop, authorities said.

Jesus Camarillo, 47, of Modesto, was driving near Larkin and Kerr avenues when an officer spotted the car he was driving and noticed his registration had expired, according to Sgt. Rick Armendariz of the Modesto Police Department.

The officer tried pulling Camarillo over, but he continued driving at a slow speed before stopping a few blocks away at the intersection of Hillside Drive and Trenary Way.

He was taken into custody without incident.

In addition to an arrest warrant for escaping the Honor Farm, Camarillo also was charged with drunk driving, Armendariz said.

Camarillo’s time at the Honor Farm had to do with traffic violations and driving under the influence, Armendariz said.
