'Valley's Got Talent' ready to shine at Modesto's Gallo Center

Singers, dancers, musicians, a yo-yo expert and more gathered to rehearse this week for the "Valley's Got Talent" show tonight at the Gallo Center for the Arts in downtown Modesto.

Twenty-six acts competing for a $1,000 grand prize will take part in a 90-minute show of public auditions, with the winner announced at the end.

A $750 second prize and $750 audience choice award also will be given out.
