Turlock police say close windows, despite the heat

With temperatures heading back toward triple digits today, you might be tempted to leave your car windows cracked when leaving your car.

In the past week, they took reports for eight car burglaries; in half of them, the burglar got in through partially opened windows.

As an alternative, police encourage drivers to invest in a window shade or look for a shady place to park.
