VIDEO: Modesto-Pitman and Oakdale-Modesto Christian

Modesto High and Oakdale High opened the 2010 football season with impressive victories on Friday night.

The Panthers defeated Pitman 48-36 in the first game at the newly renovated Joe Debely Stadium in Turlock.

Meanwhile, the Mustangs rode the strength of their ground game — Daniel Linder and A.C. Brown each had two touchdown runs — to an easy 56-20 victory over Modesto Christian.

The victory for Modesto was one of only two recorded by the Modesto Metro Conference. Enochs defeated Sierra 35-25.
