SAN FRANCISCO One day after a wild, 10-inning win, the San Francisco Giants went down quietly on Thursday. Anibal Sanchez pitched a one-hitter for his first shutout since a no-hitter as a rookie in 2006, in the Florida Marlins' 5-0 victory over the Giants.
Sanchez (8-6) retired his first 13 batters and matched a career-high with eight strikeouts, winning for the first time in six starts since June 22.
Giants rookie Buster Posey had his hitting streak snapped at 21 games, one shy of tying Hall of Famer Willie McCovey's San Francisco rookie record, set in 1959.

Sanchez retired Freddy Sanchez on a liner to left on his 118th pitch, ending his gem in 2 hours, 7 minutes. He struck out eight for the fifth time in his career.
Juan Uribe reached on Jorge Cantu's throwing error to start the fifth inning for the Giants' first baserunner.
Pablo Sandoval blooped a clean single into shallow left-center moments later. After that, Aubrey Huff's leadoff walk in the seventh was San Francisco's only other runner.
Giants' rookie Madison Bumgarner (4-3) had a four-start winning streak snapped.
Posey, who batted .440 with six homers and 23 RBIs during his streak, went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts and also grounded into a double play.
"I had fun with it," Posey said. "It would have been something cool to have. But at the same time, I know who Willie McCovey is I didn't know he had the Giants rookie record hitting streak. ... I guess in a way it's kind of nice the attention will go back to (the team and winning) instead of the streak."
