Student rock at Valley Music Institute

Eight student rock bands enrolled at Modesto's Valley Music Institute will perform Aug. 8 at Modesto Virtual and Aug. 22 at Mancini Bowl at Graceada Park. Both shows begin at 3 p.m.

The bands are made up of musicians ages 5 to 54 who completed a three-month program.

Established in 1980, Valley Music Institute puts together 30 bands a year. The band coaches are Darin Morris and Rob Berhorst.
