Turlock's Smith wins qualifier

Turlock High senior Paul Smith, The Bee's 2010 Golfer of the Year, fired a two-round total of 1-over 145 for a one-stroke win at a USGA Junior qualifying tournament at the Yolo Fliers course in Woodland.

This qualifies Smith to play in the USGA Junior Amateur Championship in Ada, Michigan, July 19-24.

Smith shot a 2-under 70 in his first round, then had a 3-over 75.
