Turlock baseball back in action tonight

Turlock High has a tall task tonight, needing to beat two-time defending Sac-Joaquin Section South Region winner St. Mary's twice to reach the best-of-three Division 1 final. St. Mary's beat Turlock 12-2 in the second round and the Rams are still unbeaten.

It should be a matchup featuring college-bound hurlers: Turlock's Vince Wheeland (Oklahoma State) and St. Mary's Louie Lechich (Cal).

The first pitch is 5 p.m. at University of the Pacific. If Turlock wins, a second game begins 30 minutes afterward.
