Cal senior pitcher Marissa Drewrey, slowed all season by a knee injury, will not see action during the Golden Bears' NCAA Super Regional series beginning today at Georgia.

Drewrey, an Oakdale High product who is ranked among the top five in career strikeouts for Cal, compiled a 2-0 record but pitched only 14 2/3 innings this season.

The 11th-seeded Golden Bears (44-17) face a sixth-seeded Georgia team (43-11) that features sophomore pitcher and East Union graduate Erin Arevalo, the Bulldogs' leader in wins (18-6).

The winner of the best-of-three series qualifies for the College World Series.

Georgia reached the Final Four in 2009.
