Riverbank will celebrate Memorial Day by dedicating a war memorial and placing a plaque to honor Petty Officer 3rd Class James Layton. The Riverbank resident and Navy corpsman was killed in a battle in Afghanistan in September. The Band of the Golden West from Travis Air Force Base will perform at the ceremony.
