Energy program targets businesses

A new program in the Sierra Nevada will help find energy savings for businesses and local governments.

The Sierra Business Council, based in Truckee, has joined with Pacific Gas & Electric Co. to offer free energy audits and low-cost retrofits over the next two years.

The $4.8 million program, Sierra Nevada Energy Watch, is part of a statewide effort funded by utility ratepayers.
