Tiptoe through the Tulips

Hundreds of thousands of tulip bulbs are sprouting in bloom at Dutch Hollow Farms at Oakdale and Claribel roads north of Modesto.

Owner John Bos hopes they’ll stay in flow through Easter.

Dutch Hollow has more than 200 varieties among the 600,000 bulbs it planted, in colors such as red and yellow, top; and red.

Workers pick tulips early in the morning and in the green bud stage for bouquets that will bloom afterward.
