Bee helps sponsor election primer

Are you interested in running for public office this year or in the future? A free workshop for prospective candidates will be offered at 7 p.m. this evening in the basement auditorium of the Modesto-Stanislaus Library, 1500 I St.

Speakers will address such topics as "Why would I run?" "Am I willing to have my life put under a microscope?" and "What would be the impact on family and business?"

The workshop is organized by the Modesto Chamber of Commerce, representatives from the Democratic and Republican parties, The Modesto Bee and modbee.com.
