Merced Police seeking driver involved in hit-and-run accident that injured bicyclist

Merced Police are looking for the driver of a dark green compact sedan that hit a bicyclist Thursday night at Olive Avenue and G Street.

Witnesses told police that the victim was riding his bicycle across G Street when the vehicle hit him, just after 9 p.m. Thursday.

The bicyclist, a 30-year-old male, fell to the ground and struck his head on the pavement, resulting in serious injuries, police said. He suffered a concussion and was taken by ambulance for treatment at a Modesto hospital.

The driver of the car didn't stop and continued driving south on G Street. The police are requesting the public's help to identify the driver. Call (209) 385-6912 or the anonymous tip line at (209) 385-4725.
