Hart Nathan "Cappy" Cook, an offensive lineman for Modesto High and Modesto Junior College and a member of the 9-2 Stanford football team which played in the 1951 Rose Bowl, died last month in Carson City.

The resident of Incline Village was 79.

Mr. Cook was raised in Modesto and became a three-year letterman at Stanford.

After college, he started his own pack outfit in Tuolumne County and escorted guests into the Yosemite high country.

Cook also did a hitch in the Army and later was a park ranger at Yosemite and a ski patrol leader and race coach at Dodge Ridge.
