Will implementation of Assembly Bill 32, California's greenhouse gas reduction bill from 2006, result in thousands of new jobs or thousands of lost jobs?
Supporters and proponents are making wild claims on both ends. We're pleased that Sen. Dave Cogdill, R-Modesto, has asked the legislative analyst to examine and report on what impact this legislation will have on jobs in California.
The Legislative Analyst's Office provides neutral — and very credible — reviews on a wide variety of issues. Its thoughts on AB 32 will be useful and may curb the hyperbole.
