The 2011 California-Carolina League All-Star Game has been awarded to Modesto, the Modesto Nuts announced this afternoon.
The game will be played on Tuesday, June 21, and will showcase the top prospects from two of the nation’s top High-A minor leagues. The game will be the highlight of the two-day baseball festival, which will include a welcome reception, a fan festival and post-game parties.
"We are excited to bring a showcase event to the Modesto community," said Mike Gorrasi, the Nuts' vice president and general manager. "By hosting the All-Star Game we will have the opportunity to put the city of Modesto in the baseball spotlight while giving our fans the opportunity to see some of the best prospects in all of minor league baseball."
