Getting back in the swing

City and county offices return to normal operations this week, but it's a light one for local government decision-makers.

• The Oakdale City Council meets at 7 tonight with public hearings set on garage sale rules and on continuing to ban medical marijuana dispensaries. 277 N. Second St.

• The Turlock Irrigation District Board of Directors holds its regular meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday and then follows with a 1 p.m. workshop on irrigation issues. 333 E. Canal Drive.

• Many eyes will be on Sacramento, where Gov. Schwarzenegger will give his State of the State address at 5 p.m. Wednesday and where he's expected to submit his initial budget proposal Friday. This provides key information to school districts, cities and others about the money they will get — or lose.
