Modesto Junior College Dean Ken White could be the school’s acting president while officials search for a replacement for outgoing President Richard Rose.

YCCD Chancellor Roe Darnell announced his recommendation of White today. Darnell wanted an interim president that was not interested in the permanent post.

If approved at a Yosemite Community College District Board of Trustees special board meeting late this afternoon, White would serve as MJC’s CEO through June. He’s currently MJC’s dean of business, behavioral and social sciences.

After joining MJC as president in 2006, Rose was ousted last week and his final day is today.

Today’s closed-door meeting starts at 4 p.m.

Look for updates on modbee.com later tonight for news about the board’s decision.
