High winds should subside by this evening

The wind that blew through the Northern San Joaquin Valley today should subside by the evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service had in place a wind advisory until 5 p.m. today.

Winds in the area hovered from 20 to 30 mph throughout the area, and up to 40 mph in some areas, according to the weather service.

A sunny sky and high temperatures near 50 degrees are expected to last over the next five days.
