History tells us that today's 17th Graffiti Bowl game, pitting San Jose City and the Modesto Junior College Pirates, won't lack for action.

The Graffiti teams over the years have combined for an average of nearly 61 points, so expect a lot of offense at 1 p.m. at MJC Stadium.

"It might turn into a shootout," MJC coach Sam Young said, "but our defense always has risen to the occasion."

MJC (6-4) tied for second in the Golden Gate Conference while the Jaguars (7-3) finished third in the Coast Conference.

The Graffiti is one of seven community college football bowl games contested today throughout Northern California.
