The Stanislaus Literacy Center will hold a volunteer tutor orientation and training Wednesday and Saturday. The orientation is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. both nights in the downstairs auditorium at the Modesto branch of the Stanislaus County Library, 1500 I St. It will cover the basics of how the program works and the commitment involved with being a tutor. The training will cover the dynamics of teaching an adult, learning differences among people, and how to use the curriculum and other literacy materials provided free to the tutor and the adult student.
