City of Modesto reviews Williamson Act

The Modesto Planning Commission on Monday night will look at new guidelines for how the city administers the Williamson Act, a farmland preservation measure.

There are three pieces of land inside city limits protected by the act, but there are dozens just outside the city.

The city was required to set Williamson Act policies and fees when it annexed the 454-acre Tivoli specific plan area.
