BEREAVED FAMILY CONFERENCE

INFO: The Compassionate Friends Modesto/Riverbank Area Chapter will host a Pre-Holiday Mini-Conference, to help support area bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings, age 18 and over. There will be workshops, speakers, panel discussions and sharing sessions. The cost is a suggested donation of $15 per person and $20 per couple. A $6 box lunch will be available. LEGO TOURNAMENT

INFO: A Lego League Robotics Tournament will be held for elementary and middle school teams from Modesto, Clovis and Fresno. Teams will build and program robots to compete in a robot game based on this year's theme: Smart Move (finding creative solutions for transportation). ENVIRONMENT FESTIVAL

WHERE: Camp 4 Wine Café, 1508 10th St., Suite B
INFO: The Tuolumne River Trust, Sierra Club and Camp 4 will host Think and Drink Green. The event will feature outdoor- and wildlife-themed art and photography, live music, a special book signing of "My Life," Royal Robbins' autobiography, and organic wine and beer.

OMELET BREAKFAST

INFO: Modesto's American Legion Post 74 will hold an omelet breakfast fund-raiser. The breakfast will include made-to-order omelets, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, country potatoes and juice, coffee and tea. A $7 donation at the door is requested. Children under 7 are free. HOLIDAY TRIP

INFO: The city's Parks and Recreation Department will host a trip to San Francisco. The trip will include a visit to Pier 39, shopping, sightseeing and eating. The cost is $60 per person and includes round-trip transportation, cost of the driver and tour guide. For more information, call 869-7124.

MATURE DRIVING COURSE

WHEN: Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
WHERE: Oak Valley Medical Plaza, 1425 W. H St.
INFO: The AARP will hold a driving skills course for drivers 50 and older. Participants will learn about age-related changes that can affect driving abilities.
