The Stanislaus Union School District recently earned a $200,000 Enhancing Education Through Technology grant.
The goal of the grant is to improve students' technological literacy by increasing proficiency on word processing and presentation software, and to improve academic achievement in writing and social studies.
The district's last grant from 2007 helped improve student proficiency in word processing from 30 percent to 70 percent. The original grant also allowed Prescott Senior Elementary to install two computer labs.
