Coroner identifies Highway 99 crash victim

Authorities on Wednesday released the name of a 27-year-old Livingston woman who died Tuesday afternoon when the sport utility vehicle she was driving overturned on Highway 99 in Modesto.

Sonia Albores was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Stanislaus County coroner's office.

The crash occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes, just south of the Briggsmore Avenue overpass. Albores was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer about 65 mph in the far left lane. The SUV veered to the right and overturned, coming to rest on its side on the highway's shoulder, the California Highway Patrol reported.
