Hilmar High has suffered a blow with the loss of quarterback Quinton McCown.

McCown broke his collarbone in Friday's win over Orestimba and will undergo surgery. He was tackled after a long run early in the game.\

McCown led Hilmar to a Sac-Joaquin Section title last fall. His replacement is Andrew Olson, 6-foot-2, 170-pounder who led the sophomore team to a 9-0 record.

"Andrew's been practicing with the varsity all season, and the sophomores run the same offense as the varsity, so he's had plenty of exposure," coach Frank Marques said.

Hilmar (8-1) is at Patterson on Friday and both teams have clinched playoff berths.
