Three people were displaced from their house Sunday night after a fire roared through their living room, according to the Modesto Fire Department.

Firefighters received a call to the 100 block of Oak Street at about 8:30 p.m.

When they arrived, they found three people outside of the house, and fire inside the living room. They extinguished the fire in five minutes, according to Battalion Chief Sean Slamon.

He said the cause of the fire has not yet been determined and is still under investigation. Four engines, a truck and a battalion chief tended to the blaze.

Nobody suffered injuries. He estimated damage at $50,000.

Red Cross assisted the family in finding shelter.
